What Can You Say About Old Trains

Hello everybody! My name is Alice and I have just arrived in Wonderland. As a courtesy to the development of technology, I didn’t arrive here by falling down the rabbit whole, but by taking the metro 🙂

Before sharing my wonderland with you, let’s play a little game: I tell you a few words and you think of a little story around them. And then you can compare your creation with my real story. So the words are: trains, museum, vintage.

I must confess: I have never been in a museum of trains before. I love trains just to the extent that they take me where I want to go ( I know, I am such a practical person). But somehow I ended up at the “museum of trains” in Madrid. Why? Well…because I trust my friends and their recommendations (thanks Marina!). My friend also told me that during the weekend, a kind of a vintage market was set up in the museum. I didn’t expect much when I entered. But I got a unique experience and discovered a “must take everybody there” place.

So, in a huge hall there were all types of old trains displayed on 3 rows. And between the trains, in a wonderful mix of messy and beautiful arrangements, there were these little boutiques that sold everything that a vintage-lover could dream of. In the background I could hear the sound of live music – pure delight.

I’ll categorize my findings in:

1. For my home aka the place which shows the real me

 

2.For my soul which I like to pamper on every occasion

3. For my stomach which endures all my curiosities

And last but not least… the trains! They were pretty impressive. The one I especially liked was a train-apartment which made me imagine how people were travelling many years ago.

To sum it all up, when you plan to visit Madrid, take a look at the museum’s website. The market is opened just once per month and you don’t want to miss it. Search for “The motor market”, you won’t regret it!
