HFLFW (Highlights From London Fashion Week)

We don’t have in our community just expat girls, but true fashionistas, that get to be invited to the London Fashion Week and show us some of the highlights.

Why is LFW important in the fashion world, you may ask. LFW is one of the highest profile fashion events in the world and one of the ‘big 4’ trend-setter in clothing and styling. The other three are: New York, Paris and Milan. If you remember, we have a Milan correspondent as well, but enough bragging 🙂

In order to understand the impact of LFW, know that it generates orders in the region of £100m; while the event itself contributes £20 million to the London economy in terms of direct spend and attracts visitors from over 25 countries including US, France, Italy, Russia, Middle East, China and UAE.

Now let’s take a look at some of the main attractions:

We’re sure you are curious to know more about our fashionista – Catalina Serban.

It may come as a surprise to you, but she studied economics and one of her passions was…Math! Actually she was quite good at it. After working for many years in advertising, she got in touch with her creativity which led her in field where creative expression holds no boundaries.

She had her arm on me and we were getting a picture taken and I was having a Jean-Paul Sartre moment where all I could feel was her hand on my shoulder. There were no cameras, there was no line, there was just the hand of Isabel Marant pour H&M on my shoulder…feeling blessed
